Prior to joining RDA, Booms was used for pig hunting. Booms in incredibly reliable, versatile and works in all three of our core programmes.

Booms is the ideal mount for our independent riders and has also been trained to go off voice command for our para riders.

Booms is the matriarch of Wellington RDA and is the “gold standard” of what is required as a therapy horse.

Flight was previously a competitive sport horse, focusing on eventing and dressage.

He is an absolutely brilliant schoolmaster in our Sport and Rec programme, where he works with our more independent riders. He has taught many of our riders to walk, trot and canter independently.

Flight is an absolute rockstar with a flamboyant personality.  He is known as our “health and safety officer” constantly keeping his eye on everyone and everything.

Hamish is our longest serving therapy horse. 

He excels in our Unmounted Programme and EAGALA. Hamish is reliable and dependable in his unmounted roles.

Hamish a real gentleman with a calm graceful elegance and delightful personality. He is well liked by everyone.

Indi has the gentlest sweet way about her is and is a beautiful bay, making her very similar in looks to our lovely Moana.

Indi has come to WRDA on lease and very quickly learnt the ropes to join our ride therapy programme and is versatile across our programmes.

She is brave will all our arena activities and very affectionate to her riders and leaders. Indi has lots of admirers and is very well liked by everyone at WRDA.

Before joining our team Indi was a very good pony club pony and had a particularly fantastic jumping background.

Jaffa has a background of Pony Club and previously working at Auckland Central RDA.

She is used in our education, therapy and unmounted programmes. Jaffa is forward moving, responsive and with adaptable paces.

She has a sweet polite nature, is very calm and gentle to work with. She is an independent girl who likes her own space in the paddock.

Marley was previously used as a farm horse.

She is used in all three of our core programmes.  She is confident and brave with our arena resources. Marley has a smooth stride at both walk and trot which is great for instilling confidence.

Marley has a magnetic personality that everyone is drawn to with a gorgeous nature.

Moana was previously used for farm hacking and came to us at a youngster. 

She is used in all three core programmes. She is brave in the arena and enjoys the variety of work. Moana has very adjustable paces and can speed up or slow down as required.

Moana is beautiful both personality and looks with a kind and sweet nature.

Moana is very kindly supported by one of our Volunteers!

Moby has a background of Pony Club and previously working at Auckland Central RDA.

He is a real delight, excellent in all three core programmes, plus our Unmounted Programme and Eagala. He is safe, reliable and versatile. Moby has slow and steady paces.

Mody is calm and gentle to work with and also has a cheeky personality particularly at lunchtime as food is his favourite thing!

Penny was previously used in riding school and has been to pony club and competitions.

She is used in our therapy and education programmes. She is responsive and brave. Penny is forward moving with great ground cover.

Penny has an outgoing personality and although slight, she is spunky in the paddock and well respected by her peers.

Scout came to us from a farm home as a youngster but was wise beyond his years.

He is used in all three of our core programmes. He is willing, calm and has a lovely nature. Scout has lots of lateral movement in his gait and a bouncy trot.

Scout is a big lovable lad who is curious and playful with a larger-than-life character.You will often catch him playing in the paddock, he is the clown of the group.

Timmy was previously a farm horse and had done some dressage.

He is used in all our core programmes.  Timmy is our weight carrier and is also perfectly happy with riders lying and sitting in various positions which makes in versatile.  Timmy is smooth and steady in his paces.

Timmy is a big handsome lad and has a curious and friendly nature and will do anything for a snack!

Tonka was previously a trekking pony.

Tonka excels in our Unmounted Programme and EAGALA.

He is adorable, like a teddy bear, in looks and personality.  He is always looking for fun and has a big likeable personality.  He loves people as much as he loved food.
