Blog 6 – The Big Build - Our Future is Covered.
The rain has made life a bit tricky but the team has boxed on – quite literally with the concrete pads being boxed and poured. The 50m x 5m pad will have offices, classrooms, clubrooms and amenities while the two 5m x 5m pads on the other side will be a feed shed and a tack shed.
Everything has been inspected, signed off and cured. Work then commenced on the foundations which have been dug and are now being boxed and the framing set up for a second concrete pour next week weather permitting. The steel kit will then be delivered on site for installation over the next month. Kiwispan have been great and are always on site when they say they will be and keep things simple so I can stay up to speed!
The team of plumbers were on site to prep the slab for their plumbing and we need a huge shout out to this team who are doing all our plumbing for FREE – Yip FREE, NADA, ZIP!! How incredibly generous is that. Jeremy Mansfield from Straight Flush plumbing has organised all this and is assisted by Plimmer Plumbing (Derek Plimmer), Justin Harriss Plumbing (Justin Harriss) and Mana Plumbing (James Taylor). In addition Plumbing World is donating all the front of wall fittings. Such incredible generosity meant we could actually commence with the build ahead of schedule as in kind donations mean less cash on hand required to fund the build.
Completion is still on target for 31 October and I am actively progressing the final phase which is our internal fit out of both the human and horses lean-tos. Please any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to contact me and please support these guys who are supporting us.
