Danielle Udon-McFarland

My interest with RDA was initially sparked from seeing Donna, Kaetrin and Pauline regularly stopping into Duck Creek following visits all around the greater Porirua basin looking for possible sites for RDA to move to. I saw how hard these ladies were working trying to find options and locations. After many questions Donna suggested I come along and take a look at the work they were doing in Kenepuru.

From there I was hooked and signed up as a very green volunteer. People I felt very comfortable with – however horses I knew nothing about.

I was very kindly guided through horse 101 but truly captured by the responses from the riders. Following along their journeys and transformations from their experiences both on and off the horses was wonderful. Lead by Claire and her team the passion for horses, riders and outcomes was infectious.

I had a change in employment and could no longer volunteer during the week. When approached to join the Committee I was happy to be involved with RDA again and the great work everyone involved achieves.  Thank you for having me back.
