"Diamond in the rough"
Booms, a Stationbred X Percheron liver chestnut mare, is 12 years old. She stands at 14.2 hands. Before joining WRDA at the end of 2013, Booms was used as a general hacking horse in Gisborne and the Manawatu.
Booms has come out of her shell since arriving and now lets us see her sensitive and feminine nature every so often. She is very vocal and loves to have whickering conversations with people and horses.
Although a little short in the back, Booms is very strong and a perfect height for sidewalking, making her a popular and versatile horse for the ride therapy programme.Page updated: 6 August 2016
